The earliest track of our family is in Spain, where Caminé (“walker”) Schaminée was born in 1595 in Spain and had one son: Theodorus ‘Kaminx’ Schaminée, who was born somewhere between 1625 – 1632. We have not found the trail of the mother. When and where Caminé (“walker”) Schaminée died is not known.
Theodorus ‘Kaminx’ Schaminée married with Helena Janssen on 17 January 1662 in Hülm in Germany, where there 3 children were born: Pascal Schaminee (1663 -1737), Rembert Kaminx (1664 – ?) and Peter “Kannnicks” Schaminee (1670 – ?)
Peter “Kannicks” Schaminée was born on 1 juli 1670 in Hülm (Nederrijn) Duitsland. Peter “Kannicks” Schaminée was married on 26-Jul-1726 with Maria Elisabeth Vrint (1692 – 1742) in Maastricht, the Nederlands and had 2 children: Maria Barbara Mennen (1726 – 1730) and Andreas Schaminée (1730 – 1784). Peter “Kannicks” Schaminée died in Goch (date unknown).
Andreas Schaminée was born on 27-Feb-1730 in Goch Germany. Andreas died on 11-Feb-1784 in Hülm-Aug-1761. He was a tailor and he married with Maria Peters (1772 – 1803) in Hülm, where they raised their 6 children: Joannes (1762 – 1831), Friderich (1764 – 1771), Gerardus (1766 – 1826), Peter (1768 – 1828), Henricus (1773 – 1774) and Elisabeth Maria (1776 – 1809). Andreas died on 11-Feb-1784 in Hülm in Germany at the age of 53.
Gerardus Schaminée was born on 17-Feb-1766 in Hülm, Nordrhein-Westfalen in Germany. He was baptised on 27-Feb-1766 in Hülm. He took over the tailor profession of his father Andreas and moved to Beugen, The Netherlands where he started a small tailor shop. On 18-Oct-1789 Gerardus married Petronella Tillemans (1755-1832) in Beugen. Together they gave birth to 4 children: Anna Catharina (1791 -1836), Cornelis (1793 – 1842), Gerardus (1795 – 1842) and Andreas (1800 – 1879). Gerardus died on 29-Jun-1826 in Beugen, The Netherlands at the age of 60.
Andreas Schaminée was born in Beugen in 1800 and was baptised there on 25-Dec-1800 (Christmas Eve). Andreas married with Henrina Verboten in Beugen on 20-Jul-1828. Together they had 12 children: Gerarda (1829-1910), Jan (1830-1897 ), Cornelus (1832-1884), Peter (1833-1922), Anne Maria (1835-1910), Hendrikus (1836-1882), Anton (1838-1914), Hubertus (1840-1887), Gertruda (1842-1915), Gerardina (1844-1860), Elisabeth (1846-1910) en Jacobus (1848-1935. Andreas had was the 3rd generation tailor and had his tailor shop in Beugen. To feed all the children the shop had to be very successfull. Andreas died on 13-Nov-1865 at the age of 64 in Beugen.
Peter Schaminée was born on 11-Nov-1833 born in Beugen as the 4th of 12 children. He became the 4th generation tailor and took over the shop in Beugen. On 23-May-1859 Peter married with Helena Lemmens (1831 – 1889) and gave birth to 7 children: Gerardina Adriana (1860 – 1932), Antonius Hendrikus (1862-1910), Hendrika Geertruida (1865 – 1927), Andreas (1867 – 1897), Hendrikus (1870 – 1875), Egbertus (1873 -1953) and Hendrikus Antonius (1878 – 1962). Peter died on 10-Jan-1922 in Valburg at the impressive age of 88.
Egbertus Schaminée was born on 24-Jan-1901 in Bemmel and was the 5th generation tailor having his shop in Oosterhout and later in Eindhoven and Nijmegen. Egbertus married Theodora Catherina van Aelst (1876 – 1944) and gave birth to 11 children: Helena (1901-1994), Jan (1902-1953), Maria Johanna Ida (1903-1988), Toon Schaminée (1904-1997), Hendrikus Egbertus Maria (1905-1988), André (1907-2000), Egbertus Theodorus (1908-1999), Thé (1909-1984), Gerrie (1912-1997), Aloys (1917-1999), Elisabeth Joanna (1917-2005). Egbertus died on 9-Nov-1953 in Eindhoven at the age of 88.
Hendrikus Egbertus Maria (Henk) Schaminée was born on 29-Oct-1905 in Elst as a son of a tailor and started in 1923 at the city counsel of Bemmel and moved his position later to Eibergen. In 1923 Henk became the second official in service of the community Woubrugge and became the mayor of Woubrugge in 1935. That is where he married with Helena Maria Luduina Bosman (1913 – 2010) in 1935. Helena was the daughter of the school master and poem in Hazerswoude. In 1946 (during the Second World War), Henk moved with Helena and his family to Zevenbergen, where he served as the role as mayor until Nov-1970. Henk and Helena had 9 children: Thekela, Paul (1938 – Live), Rob, Thed, Wil, Leonie, Anke, Carolien en Peter. From 1970 -1972 Henk was interim mayor of Tubbergen. Henk died in 1988 at the age of 82 in Breda.
Paulus Egbertus Theodor Maria (Paul) Schaminée was born on 3-Feb-1938 in Woubrugge. With his father Henk becoming mayor of Zevenbergen (and Moerdijk), they moved as a family to the Stationstraat. Paul went to the Saint Louis in Oudenbosch, known as a very strict catholic boarding school. He continued at the HBS at the Norbertus in Roosendaal where he met his girlfriend Angele Dellaert during dance classes at Ad de Bra. After the HBS, Paul continued his study at the Technical University of Eindhoven where he graduated with his Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering. During his study he had an active role in the student society. After his study Paul worked at Shell Moerdijk & Pernis, Operational Director at Indiana Rubber in Roosendaal and Managing Director at DAF Trucks Rotterdam. With his wife Angele Dellaert he gave birth if three sons: Bart (2-Aug-1968, Breda), Michiel (5-Jul-1970), Paul (27-Nov-1972). Longest period he lived in Roosendaal with his family at Lamdjuweel 28, and in the weekend sailing on the Waterjuweel on the Grevelingen. After his wife Angele passed away (9-Dec-1995), Paul and Loes (friend of Angele) continued their second youth. Paul stopped working, but remained active as ever. One of his favorite soirts became rowing, which he is still actively doing as oldest member at the Roosendaalse Roei Vereniging, where he active member for over 30 years.
